fuel requirements? The 2.7T is teh 2.8 with a tiny bit samller cylinders to handle the boost. I am talking about the B5 bi-turbo not the V8. I am worried about teh insurance too. I gotta get a quote before i get too hooked on the s4. if its to hig say hello to the s/c.

S4's suck gas man... much worse than a 2.8.
Turbo's make it possible for a lot of fuel to be burned... my a4 certainly doesnt get the mileage of a normally aspirated 1.8L 20V motor... haha, not by a long shot!

In all fairness, the supercharger would make for a gas chugging 2.8L as well... but in the supercharged 2.8's defense, it'd be more reliable... once the s4 is chipped, the k03's days are numbered -- mainly because of how hard you'll be driving it.

you should be able to do a pulley and raise the boost, that is of course if you do headgaskets and some fuel upgrades. pes ships it out running a low boost program. i dont see any reason y someone cant pull 400+ out of a s/c 2.8

it would be eazy to change pulleys but to be able to do that your internals must be able to take the extra hp. i dont think an s/c a4 has too much more room for added hp. for more power you would need more than just added fuel. you would need a more agressive cam, new lightweight valves, new valve springs, p&p intake manifold and prob a few more expensive parts to make it work properly. on a compleatly diferant car (99 buick regal gs)my buddy had larger s/c put on it and reqired lots and lots of extra parts just to handle the small amount of extra boost. it is a lot more work than he thought it would be. hopefully in the next few weeks it will be fully tuned and be ready for more runsdown the 1/4 mile. his earlyer runs were in the high 11s low 12s. so it should br nice when fully tuned

Hmm, the k04 upgrade and supporting mods is thousands of dollars -- on top of the purchase of the s4 itself... got a new job, apg?

apg96, I would seriosly rethink what your going to do. I dont think ur aware of what all a s4 a can rack up with a young driver with mods can do. First of all, you buy the car.We will say 19k for a nice s4. Then u spend 600 on a chip, the turbos last a yr. Then, u say your going to do a ko4 upgrade, theres about 7k. Then it comes time to install the ko4s.( dont even say ur going to do it yourself) Theres prolly another 3k to 4k to install everything. So u spend 19k on the car,exhaust(1k)baileys dvs (300),chip(600), ko4s kit, (7k). You will have about 27k in it when ur done, and it will still not be as reliable as a s/c 2.8, with worse gas mi.
