Default S4 Swap?

I have been talking to my dad recently on weather to sell my car soon to try to get some money out of it before it starts to have some major problems. we got talking and came up with annother option. the body is in great condition, i have sport suspension and H-sport sways, and everything with brakes/suspension is great. the motor has 146,000 on it now but with a 2000mile old Ko3, tranny rebuilt at 100,000 new clutch at the same time. so we were thinking... keep the car until its death (motor wise) sell the decent parts, Ko3, and possibly attempt a B5 S4 motor and tranny swap. just wondering what you guys would think thanks

I would agree. Id say save your money, drive the car til it dies...hell it may just surpise you and run til over 200k.

well now it really depends on if you can do all the work yourself as I have seen complete drivetrains going for around $5000 so really that is not all that bad but if you can do the work yourself that is another question

If you have a donor car... a wrecked S4... it isn't that bad to do the swap, because you have ALL the parts you need... But I wouldn't try and buy a motor/tranny from an S4 and start piecing it together... find a wrecked S4, and do your swap.

vwaudidriver on vwvortex did it, he said it wasn't a big deal.

Its not worth going through the hassle of trying to swap the motor for a s4 motor.
