Your gonna do it sooner or later!
Thats one of the probelms with the guys that always say "go custom" just get a muffler. The cat back exhausts are stainless all the way, so they last a long long time.
Anyway, Evoic, and everyone else, I commend you for engaging in this informative discussion in such a way that everyone can make their points and learn a little. Sometimes people on here get mad or take it personally, but this was a nice discussion and I am glad there are ones like this on this site.
Ace.....you were kind enough to give a little, so I'll give a little back.
To be perfectly honest, I had never once considered the issue of the aftermarket exhausts being stainless steel and NEVER RUSTING.
That in itself adds value to the purchase, so..... [sm=icon_cheers.gif] - thanks for the insight.

Wont you see better results with a testpipe on the 2.0 than the 1.8? or will the gains be the same across the board?

But it should still DEFINITELY be a noticeable gain when you add the pipe to the 1.8T and it is also great bang for the buck.
The test pipe is callin' you, Goat.

**EDIT.
Duh. Just read your signature.
Nevermind. [sm=loser.gif]
Just wanted to give a bump to www.ecodetuning.com. I searched forever last night among all of our sponsors etc. and realized they have the most competetively priced test pipes. Was talking to a couple guys over there and they are on the ball as far as product knowledge and customer service goes too. I'm placing my order with them tomorrow for my test pipe! I suggest anyone else thats itching for a cheap go-fast mod does the same. [sm=bounceybounce.gif]

This was definatly a great thread and i cannot believe the gains from one small pipe. A follow up question though, i realize a high flow cat is a lot more expensive, however, considering that it is emissions friendly does a HFC produce same numbers? way less? nothing close?
Anyone?
Anyone?
usually when a company builds a high flow cat they build it so it can past emissions. but i would call the dealer about and get his word and guarntee that it will pass, but since i live in Montana, no emissions what so ever, and you can absicallly run open header on your gma's buick rivera and not get a ticket for noise disturbance. plus the cops are retarded out here
