Default same sh*t different day

So i'm drivin my car home from work today and the red oil can appeared on my dash. *****.......myengineCOULD be f-ed. I got it home and it's showing no symptoms yet. Seemed to be purring when i shut it off. From what i've read here audi may go good for it as long as i have all the oil service records?? the woman i bought it from kept all butlike 3 of the receiptsand the car has 130,000 on it. If i am missing a few would they definitly not go for it?? Just wondering if anyone has actually got audi to cover the charges or whether i should try the auto-rx and see what happens. I'm now back to commuting 40 miles one way in a frickin superduty.

think your sol @130k miles. AMZE got his covered but he was under 60k miles and a 03. Try to clean the enigne with the auto-rx or seafoam and then also drop the oil pan and clean the oil pick up. Im sure auditech79 could help you more

Audi will cover it if you have oil change reciepts for at least every 10k miles. It doesn't matter what the mileage is though, i replaced an engine that had 180k miles for free before.

No sh*t, i definintly have a receipt for every 10,000....i assumed it had to have been for every 5,000. How does it work getting covered? Is it a situation where i get redeemed later or is the repair cost covered when it is done? I suppose i'll just call the dealership tomorrow and ask them. Thanks for the info....

Its a world wide TSB (technical service bulletin) it states in the manual if you can show proof of your receipts then they have to take off the valve cover and check the cam bearings for damage. If the damage is too great they will replace the motor, if not they will repair the problem. Which is a lengthy 9 hour repair i might add. Replacing just about every damn hose known to man in the PCV system, oil pick up tube, and two oil changes just about.

I was under the impression that the Red "oil can" was a sign of low oil level, not low oil pressure.

Did you get the repetitive chime?

There may be some pros here that will correct me, but I am not sure you even received the bad indicator.

My manual says that the "low oil" light is orange, while the oil pressure is red.
