Ok so my basic code reader wont give me codes anymore. It gets power but just keeps on scanning forevers. Whats up with that.

 

Is your ignition in the on position?

 

If you have an aftermarket radio make sure it turned off.

 

Ignition def on but it does do the same thing when its off. Do you think it could have something to do with the fact that my radios burnt out.

doesnt work or turn on I think the fuse in the back of hu is blown

 

after a did diode mode i kept my scanner in a car for few weeks, and i think because of heat my scanner stopped working too, it takes long time to read and then just give me an error.


try to use it on enother car to make sure it's a scanner and not your car port.

 

yes you need the radio working first.

 

Why would you need your radio working in order for an obdII scanner to communicate with the ECU? And, if aftermarket, why would you need to turn it off?

 

I think that the radio is linked to some of the electronics in the car.
