Default Scariest thing ever happend to me in my audi last night!!! HELP!!

Ok so some of you know me or well know me from here...any way I have a 00 A4 1.8T quattro tip with GIAC 2.5" catback lighweight crank strat dv abd cai etc like my sig says there is aprox 81K on the car

I was driving last night with my GF in the car on the 405 south heading to the 10 freeway doing about 85-90 when a loud "thud" happens my EPC light comes on and I loose all power !!! Mind you Im in the right lane and there is tons of cars around me!! I managed to get it over to the side of the road ...meantime Im thinkin oh **** my engine is toast..timing belt or something...

I manage to get it off an exit on PICO into the Best Buy ..shut it off..pop the hood ...all belts fine I noticed a little green plastic connector wire loose so I fastened that closed the hood and started it up..

It got us back home in Santa Monica but I had tops 8-10 psi of boost ....LIMP mode??

any thoughts?? I do have a cel on but I also have the brake and ABS lights on b/c I need to either rebuild or buy a new ABS controller..and the cel last time I checked was ABS rough road sensor related

HELP!! I did search and this happend to one guy (which I pm'd) but there was no final out come to his (the same) issue

thanks all!!

If you were able to reconnect the wire and get home I would naturally in a mechanic mind set think that was your actual issue... Seeing that you are chipped I'm going to take a guess and say that the wire that caused your car to malfunction caused your chip to have to issues also... In turn allowing you to still get home on normal programming from the car with conflicting programing coming from your chip... Test it out a bit to see if that's the case... From what it sounds like your car's issue came from that one wire and leads me to believe that wire may have cause some error in the programing that you set on your car... If you could give a specific on what wire it actually was i'm sure you would be able to figure out your problem in the snap of your fingers

Thanks everyone for the quick replies..

The wire is located down on the drivers side above the smic (not on it but near it) and my car has been worked on some over there b/c it was hit on that side..long story

anyway it is plastic green with purple on it as well ...it clips in to each other there are a few more in the area..will try and take a pic to post up

I will also scan for codes in a bit

so New York are you saying my tuning is shot in my chip?? b/c It doesnt feel chipped anymore ..def only boosting 8-10 psi so sayith the gauge..plus its no where near as powerful

thoughts? thanks

Dont jump to any conclusions or assumptions before you have fault codes.
Take a pic of the wires, get the fault codes and post em up.

nice thanks for the info Crazy I will look into that ...but my code for the ABS was P1606 Rough Road Engine Torque Signal from ABS: Electrical Malfunction Intermittant

ok so the other codes were P1335 Engine Torque Monitor 2: Control limit exceeded Intermittant

I also had a 01367 Central Locking Pump Run Time Exceeded(likely leak) plus a alarm trigger from the luggage compartment ...which I think is why I couldnt reprogram my Key FOB early in the week

I cleared the codes and I will drive her tomorrow to see whats what

check out the pick of the green/purple plastic wire cable I reattached
