Screwed Power Steering?
damn... that was a stupid question i made... today i bought the dealer fluid and realize that is exact the same you can get anywere else (pentosin 11s). i was thinking that the pentosin you get on any online store was diferent than the dealer one. thats so.... well, whatever.
i filled up the container and the noise was gone
, small amount of fluid = big difference.
I bought it at the VW dealer and paid around 30 dlls (i live in Mexicali BC Mexico, near Tijuana hehe) and i guess thats why it was a little bit expensive.
Any way, problem solved by the moment, i just need to find out where is the leak.

Hi, i've been doing some research about the ps fluid, and ALL the people is telling me that the ONLY one to use is Pentosin 11s, so, you got 3 options:
1.- Drive 45 miles to the dealer
2.- Buy it over the internet, heres the link Ecstuning Pentosin 11s
3.- Order it on a local store (i was going to do that, $22 dlls incluiding tax, but i decide to buy it from a VW dealer because they had it in stock)

My Napa actually had a few cans on the shelf, much to my surprise. However, most stores do not carry it. Because your pump is making noise, I wouldn't wait until mail order can deliver it. Bite the bullet and get some from the dealer.
When you hear this noise, it means the pump is working like a **** trying to maintain hydraulic pressure. It has to work extra hard to do this cuz you have less fluid in the system. The pump is condensing air and not hydraulic fluid. Air compresses a LOT - hydraulic fluid doesn't.
So you are over working your pump. If the pump dies you are in for serious sticker shock.

If the pump dies, will I be without power steering (which I've been told I am now), or will my car NEED urgent repair?
I think that the way things are looking now, I'm going to take my car into my mechanic (who is almost always honest, but I've found him throwing in things without telling me, then charging me, usually no more than $5-25 seals, etc) and have him diagnose it. I love my Audi way too much to hear it whining like this- I guess I'm lucky having owned this 110k mile car for 1.5 years, and this being the first time I've had a problem I'm actually concerned about.
I'll report back with my findings.
