SD slots - Music & More?

Audi apparently lags in the iPOD input area IMO. Why cant they just add a simple jack input on the console near the radio like many other carmanufacturers?I have heardbad things about the iPOD prep package that is available now. I was wondering if anyone has the SD slots behind the Nav screen option? Is this a good way to store/play music in your 4?
