Default SeaFoam

So i dropped some seafoam in the tank the other night, all the little knocking and pinging noises i use to hear under hard acceleration are gone, great stuff! i was curious after reading that seafoam diy i think on audiworld, if anyone has left the seafoam in there oil for long periods of time, i just had the oil changed and i'd throw some seafoam in there, but wanted to know if there would be any negative effects by leaving it in there for quite a few miles until i need my next oil change.

You're only supposed to run the seafoam in your crankcase for 2-300 miles. I'd wait untill right before your next oil change, but yes, it does work wonders!

seriously i was rather suprised at how it cleaned up idling and irregular noises. definetely a recommendation from me, ill hold off then on dropping it in the crankcase, and just run it thru the intake.

when you do run it through the intake, you should also change the plugs afterward. Be prepared to have an OBD-II scanner, or vagcom, because it will probably through a code, being as how the o2 sensor will read that there is an imbalance in the exhaust... no biggie, clear it, and go!

I'd use autoRX in the oil to clean sludge and varnish.

Crankcase treatment thins your oil and long term bad affect is reduced lubrication and scoring of the piston walls from the piston rings resulting in lowered compression. I wouldnt go more than a couple hundred miles with a crank case treatment. Ive also heard that auto-rx is good and maybe safer to use.
