This will be my first time seafoaming, and I want to do it right. Does anyone have pics of what and where the vac lines are that I should "foam"? I just want to see where I am going. I have already put 1/2 a can in the crank case and in the gas tank.
Thanks

you can do it like this-

or just feed it into 1 of those vacuum lines going into the intake manifold, and that will work fine

ahhh i wish i had my car right now. i always got really nervous about oil sludge cause idk how the previous owner was with oil changes. i never heard of this befor but once my car is back on the road im doing this a.s.a.p. i think i was 35 miles over the oil change last time i had the car anyway so its due for one. the treatment will still work if i put it in now and then change the oil right?

yeah, you should probably drive a good 50 miles or so before changing the oil.

I used to have a BMW 3 series and the BMW forum was all over this stuff. The beemers have problems with carbon buildup on the valves. I used it and I was really impressed. I had problems with rough idle, stumbling, hesitating on takeoff, stalling at traffic lights. The seafoam made it all go away. Good stuff imo. But boy, it sure does smoke! Could be hazardous in traffic. I tried to pick a windy night so my neighbors wouldn't call the fire dept!

Awsome, that is so helpful. Thank you.

My car is looking to be so peppy after this. Has anyone tried the (oh, what's that stuff from Carrol Shelby)oil additive? And would it be a good idea or not. I know the manual says don't add anything. But, then we are seafoaming. What do you think?

I want to feed it my A4, but there are no dealer in Lithuania that provide it and no US sites that ship to Lithuania.

Maybe someone could help me out getting it? I'd pay half price in advance and rest plus delivery expenses plus 30$ bonus after delivery. Would appreciate that a lot.

Seafoaming is a pretty standard treatment for me when I purchase used cars. I did a treatment on my 2.8 12v right after purchase and it made a world of differance. With over 180k miles, I did 1/3 in fuel, 1/3 in vaccuum, and 1/3 in crankcase the first treatment. I did a 2nd treatment on the crankcase after 1k miles on the fresh oilchange, with only 1k miles on the fresh synthetic, after 250 miles with the seafoam the oil was NASTY. I think of it as a flush and fill for your crankcase.

I buttoned up a few small oil leaks, and took my car into my usual mechanic for an alignment. I do most of my auto work on my own, but alignments, tires, and annoying projects go to the same guy over and over. I told him to give it a once over and make sure I didn't miss anything obvious, and he was AMAZED at the condition of the engine. He said topside he saw no buildup, and he scoped the valvetrain, and said it looked like a motor with 100k miles, not almost 200k. for me that eliminates the thought of a placebo effect.

Seafoam is good stuff. As far as the oil treatment, I know it's a thinner, and that concerns me on ANY motor (would be even more leary on a turbo motor) so I run 1/3 can for 250 miles and then change the oil. if the car is not well maintained, wait 1k miles and run another round in the crankcase. On a turbo motor I might not go past 50 miles... something about thinning the blood of your turbo really bothers me.
