Frankly everyone is entitled to their own opinion.... There is no point is criticizing one's option. Just that it sometimes limits my movements in the car and that takes out the enjoyment in the ride.. like the limited space at the home suppresses your free movements or something like that

If you think its annoying the alarm for the seatbelt you should put it on or just plug it in to the latch and and sit on your seatbelt. so just put it on

i just came across this topic now and i gotta say for a bunch of car guys it took you all close to half a year to decide to look under the seat and disconnect the wires. when i had my pick-up truck it took me mabye 15 mins to find and disconnect the seat belt alarm. now i understand it was a pickup truck not an audi but serioulsy its not that hard. me personally i wear my seatbelt, but i also commute to college so if i have some down time i tend to sit in my car and...study...and thats when seatbelt alarms become an annoyance, which is why i took mine out. the door alarm is still a mystery to me on this car though. if anyone figures that out please share any info.

I'm not sure in the newer A4 but the seat detectors in some cars control whether or not the airbag fires or if it fires ata lower velocity for a child. So be careful about disconnecting it.

i posted the codes to disable all the warning chimes.
you need an audi tech to do it.
mine have been off for 5 months.
dont be an idiot and start cutting wires and unplugging crap.
that would be a brilliant way to potentially void your warranty and run up a nice shop bill.

o yeah im not saying just look under your seat and rip everything out. and i never though of the airbags being effected by the seatbelt sensor. that may explain y the bags didnt go off when i got in the accident with the truck. all i gotta say is im glad the '99 didnt come with that alarm. the door is still at question though?

That's strange. My 2004 A4 doesn't warn you all the time. It doesn't even show the seat belt sign if you are not wearing it. It only warn you and shows the seat belt sign in the first few seconds after engine started then disappered.

Is there something wrong with my car??

I recently purchaes an '03 A4 1.8. My seat belt warning ding just stopped working. No warnig light on the dash as well. Any idea what controls it has? Fuse, relay? The MIL lightcame on as well. I'm not sure if they are related.Just put 4 new tires on it. Could the MIL be relatd to the Electronic Speed Limiter?

So I have 2 issues... Seat belt warning doesn't work. MIL indicator light on steady.

Any ideas? I don't yet own a VAG. I think I'll need one.

Thanks.

hahaha i cant believe the things im reading in this thread. they are there to protect you and some people dont wear them????? i feel naked if im not wearing one all the time. im sorry but selfpreservation is more important to me the comfort
i feel the same way. try taking a turn fast without your seatbelt if you wear it all the time, it doesn't feel right.
