I have a 97 A4 1.8T... I was wondering, right now I have the factory alarm/keyless entry system. I was thinking of upgrading my alarm system to a viper alarm system, can I have it installed in my car? What will they do with the factory one, will they just take it off? Also, will I have to have 2 remotes(factory and the viper remote)? Kind of confusing anyone on here upgraded their alarm system?

 

they should disarm the factory unit so the viper is the only one working ( its not advisable to have 2 alarms working together ) electronic chatter is the problem one could set the other one off ( TOAD is very good ) insurance recommended and will reduce your premium but as all thatcham 1 systems it has to be fitted by an alarm engineer to get the documents stamped for approval of your insurance company
