Default Self-programming a key?

Yeah, so I bought a brand new key for $150, but it didn't come programmed. Audi told me it'd be $50 to configure it to my car, but that's ridiculous. I'm pretty pissed that it didn't come programmed, so I'm wondering if there's a DIY-way. Does anybody here know anything about this type of configuration?

Both of my FOB's are nonworking. They're both just the key.

Think that'll still work... somehow... ?

yeah, I had two unworking key fobs...

put one in the ignition in the on position...then manually lock the door with the other, than unlock and lock with the buttons on the new fod then unlock with key....should do the trick, did for me...did ur new fob come w batteries at least?

you can't really mess anything up, try the procedure from the link above, you should be fine as long as the new key is compatible with the car

gl!

**** me, it doesn't work for me. Here's *exactly* what I did:

1) Old key in ignition. Turn on.
2) New key outside, in the driver-side door. I moved it to the right-position to lock the doors.
3) I hit the "Lock" button on the new key, and the car makes a clicking noise, like my turn signals are on, and the lights flash once.
4) And then what? I've tried alot of combos, but nothing works.

Yeah dude, that made me furious, I was seriously going to be like "uh you can either do it for free or refund me the $147 that I paid for this piece of **** key that doesn't even ******* work".

PHEW. Yeah, I get mad about trivial stuff like that, but right now, money is at a bare minimum, and I have more important things than programming a ******* key to invest $50 into. ****, now that I think about it, it would take them two hours what takes a regular person 2 minutes to do. That's unfortunate, haha.

Haha, try the basic tutorial then try a bunch of different things. If you still can't get it lemme know, I'll try to recall step by stpe what I did with each key.
