Default Service - DIY vs. Dealership

Hello All,
I am fairly new to the forum. I have a 99.5 A4 2.8L Quattro, Manual. Black on Black, S4 Grille, dark tint. Besides the S4 grille, she is STOCK. (For now...)
The car has 62k and is in excellent condition. When I bought the car, I noted that the service and mainenance manual that came with the car had been filled out by the dealership everytime the car has been in for service of any type (including oil changes).
In the past, I have always done maintenance work on my own. This is my first Audi. With the 60k service due, and the looming timing belt change, I am trying to decide whether to do this work on my own, or turn it over to the dealership and take the hit to the pocketbook.
As Audi owners, is it important to you to have that complete dealership recorded service record? I mean, if I ever decide to sell the car (and as much as I love her, the only change would be a bump in years), will my car be valued more having the dealer record as opposed to me doing the work myself? Further, am I safer having the dealership doing the work?
I am in Iowa, and the joint VW/Audi Dealership has shot me a quote of $700 for the 60K service and $400 for the timing belt. I believe the timing belt job only includes replacement of the timing belt. Tensioner, water pump etc. will be more. (I think) How difficult is the timing belt job? How can I flush all of my fluid systems?
WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Thanks!

Meh, keep all your receipts for your parts... even oil and filters. If I were buying a car, the parts receipts would be enough to make me happy. Dealers suck, most of us here do the work ourselves.

i had my timing belt done at a VW dealer for a fraction of the audi dealership. I like to have records, so they did mine for 600 bucks.

Thanks guys.
If I do end up deciding to do this myself, are the ECS parts the best?

Yeah the ECS parts are fine. I used them when I changed my timing belt/water pump.

How about flushing systems by myself?
