could it be the cat? maybe the air is having trouble exiting.. i know it isnt the turbo cause the turbo is a k04 that only has 8k miles on it...so air filter maybe

It could be the cat, but don't count out the turbo without checking it, (got thrown under the bus for that before) and just check everything you can that would block airflow through the engine, intake and exhaust.

just a theory..
do you think hot air could also be a factor...

i'll tell you the story..i picked it up from a shop about 20 miles away, they didnt know how to fix that fault code or the other fault code (P0734 - Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio) because they are my parents mechanics and dont know how to work on anything but domestic cars...so i had to go about 15 miles in third gear to get the gas station, that could have made the engine hot...then it just happened to start f'n things up after i got some gas to get me the rest of the way home.

I have an appointment at my local audi dealer on tuesday.

That fault code usually happens when a sensor goes haywire and sends the transmission in limp mode, it can be anything from your TCM tothe shifter selector sensor, but im gonna say its probably not gonna make a difference with the problem you have, although it doesn't help that you have a trans problem along with an engine problem.

[align=left]the cel is why i took it to the shop in the first place, but now it's goin even more "haywire" on me so idk, i'm gonna let the engine cool for a couple hours then go back out and try it again.

just a question for you auditech? are you like a real auditech or is that just the name you chose?

Yes im a real audi technician.
that's cool...well it cooled down and it's still doin the same old thing, my thinking is that i got ahold of some bad gas (watered down or somethin) so instead of gettin my tank drained..i just set my car to idle and see if it will just work the problem out itself

hey eurokid, i live in cincy also. If you havent became familiar with shops around here call ryan at dubwerx, hes the man. Im sure he can get you sorted out. i have learned its better to let someone who knows what they are doing fix an issue so you dont make something more expensive than it needs to be. I can handle some thinga but this engine is new to me.

Nah im not on swov, i know a bunch of guys on there, i just lurk there sometimes. I have heard bad things about audi connection, they did some work on my car before i bought it. There was a website out there that reviewed shops and they didnt get a very good review if i recall. I assure you that ryan and his guys will do you right, they always take good care of me. Either way good luck getting the car sorted out..
