i thought that our tranny's adapt to our driving conditions...*shrugs* my car shifts weird going uphill also, but so does my bf's A4, so i figured it was normal. tiptronic solves that problem

is it auto or manual?? if manual the clutch plate is worn ( new 3 piece replacement required ) clutch plate/thrust bearing/pressure plate, don't waste money doing just one of them

I checked his recent posts but didn't see any mention of transmission type but if your right then is probably a transmission rebuild or new fluid and filter

Check for fault codes.. get your ecu scanned.. could be a bad tcu.
Could also be a bad vehicle speed sensor.

I would tend to agree with avant80 - new tranny fluid would probably solve that problem.

it is an auto but here's the thing...Today I tryed using the "manual" 4-speed shifting in my car and it was a lot better than keeping the car in *drive*...now what does this mean?
