should I buy the 1.8T or the 2.8
I dont understand, how can the 2.8 be more reliable and how can the 1.8 be faster?
As I understand it, repairs on a turbo engine can be a hell of alot more expensive. Is this true?

the 1.8t so far from searching and reading all over the place. I came to say that 1.8t isnt really more reliable than the big sister v6. turbo car take a toll on most parts the belt job on the v6 is about the same. i seem v6 have less work to be done but do have similar problems. How the automatic on these car? Are they easy to break? What about the manual?
i like the sound of the v6, if u're not gonna have use of a quattro, get a fwd. get a lil better mpg's. if u really wanna mod it later, SC it. yea the 1.8t is more mod freindly cuz it's already forced induced and increasing boost give it lots of hp, but at the cost of reliability 1.8t's are pretty torquey tho, but nothing compared to a 2.8, but i think a 1.8 should be pretty reliable if don't rag on it constantly. under 3k shifting for daily drving on stock turbo and maybe a chip should be fine.
i chose the 2.8 30v cuz i wanted a free revving v6, more lux sound in a lux car (not the rumbling 4 bangers) and not planning on modding (apart from a chip). btw, 2.8QM gets 280 to 15 gals for mixed city/highway, i've heard 1.8tQM get like 330 or so. both require premium
only thing as maintainance as a big alart
DO YOUR TIMMING BELT EVER 80K!!!!!! HAHAHAHA

Turbo+chip will give you better gas mileage, more fun and near V6 power. And nothing unreliable about the engine, turbos do have limited life span, but upgrading to K04 is part of the fun (any Audi certified mechanic should be able to work with upgrades/basic mods).
The feel of Quattro is worth it alone. No downsides. Sport Package is the best.
Make sure you get a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) by an Audi certified mechanic on whatever vehicle you are seriously considering.

v6 with a nice sport exhaust sound nice. better than my skyline with apexi exhaust.. the only fun is hitting 400whp and that hks ssq bov. the audi is for cruising so for me i think v6 sound like a more reasonable reason to get audi. If i want more power i'll get the supercharger and go v8 hunting.. i love hunting v8 to crush.. beside german cars are toys for men.. japan are toys for boys..

Get a quattro. I live in sunny Florida and I don't have a use for my quattro...other than for my spirited driving.
I will tell you that I wouldnt own this car if it wasn't quattro.
And for whomever is saying the 1.8 isn't torquey....go ride in an bt one.

So basically with the 1.8t you get better gas mileage but you will probably end up paying back all the money you saved on repairing the turbos right?

Def get the quattro. It makes the car when it comes to bad weather. Not an option...a neccesity
