Should I buy it?
Hey guys I'm looking at buying an Audi A4, and I was wondering what your oppinion was for getting one. I bought a 97 cadillac catera a couple years ago, and shortly after I got on the cadillac forums and found everyone saying you should never buy a 97-98 cadillac catera because it has a ton of problems and not cheap to fix. I thought I was doing ok with it till a couple weeks ago I had an oil leak checked thats going to cost $1200 to fix. So, I just wanted to check with you guys before I went and bought an Audi A4 and had the same problem.
The one I am looking at is a 98, with 69k miles, they are asking $6000 for it. Any advice would be appreciated!

You're leaving out a lot of details, BUT that's great mileage for the year. Assuming it isn't beat-up and everything is right-on, it's a good price for a clean A4 with that mileage. At least in NY it's a good price. We have dealers selling low mileage A4's for 8-10k believe it or not.....and they're getting it.
Engine type?
Quattro?
What tranny?
Condition of it mechanically and visually?

I was more wanting to know from you guys though if the A4s are known to have a lot of problems, or are they expensive to fix? I mean just a valve cover gasket replacement is $490 labor for my catera which is pretty crazy[/align]
