Should i get a...
I still say buy the Civic, and save for a nicer car a bit later in life (Even a few months later). But just get a cheaper car to get some experience under your belt first.
... That's what I originally bought my Civic for. I was never into Hondas before that point, I hated them. Damn, that turned out differently, hahahaha.
Seriously though, keep your eyes on the goal and keep saving. Spend the least amount of money possible on that Civic, because once you start, you don't stop. Trust me on this, my little stock daily drive '94 EX, turned into a monster in a matter of months, and me relizing "Hey, I spent all of my money on this Civic... Oh well, screw a Z, this thing's fun."
So if you REALLY want an Audi, just be careful about that, it's easy to spend money once you have it.

Civic would be a great first car man, they're cheap, easy to fix, and easy to work on.

All very true. I would take the civic and asv for an audi. Your 16 right? get a part time job and take the 6k you have(5.5k after car) and stick it in a money market or cd for about a year or so and save ever penny you make minus gas and Im sure youll have a nice wad of cash. I had a 96 civic and did some stupid syuff in it, in fact it took 38k miles of hard abuse to kill the oem clutch at 130k miles.

Get a good enough job, and you could be making about $900-$1,000 a month. Do that for a year, and add that to what you have now. You do that math.
I dont know if he can make that as a full time highschool student. Trust me I may sound like an old guy (Damn Im only 22) but I drove a POS car for about a year and saved for a nice car. Trust me youll apperciate it more that way and youll have cash on the side.
Thanks guys, I am homescchooled so i can get a fulltime job, i called up some landscapers and they said they would call me back this weekend or sumtime next week, i hope i can get a job with one of them, so i can get some cash and jacked at the same time. I think im gonna take the civic when i get my lisence (in CT we get our permit at 16, and after 6 months we get our lisence, unless we take drivers ed and then we get it in 4) I think ittl be hard not to put money into the civic, i am really into audio so i already have my system in my room. I think it will be nice to know i have the money in case anything goes wrong. Thanks a bunch guys

What I still do today.
Deliver/Sell for Service Supply (Paper Products company), Restaraunt Job (Cook/Prep/Dishes) mow lawns (BANNNNK! Oh man it's good money.), Graphic Design (Independently, do club's logos, restaraunt logos and such. It's good because I delivery to all of these places, and I get the first word when they're looking for something new.)
So it was multiple jobs, and quite stressful doing them all and juggling two varsity sports and senior work load, but you've got to pay to play man. If you want money, do what you need to get it (Within the law, and morality
).
