hey guys i have just put my boost gauge in. when i started the car the vac read 20. im not sure if thats ok. so i took her for a test run to see if the gauge was showing any boost. i took are on a strip and booked it. the highest reading i got was 2lbs boost. and thats at 5500-6000rpm anything under was showing either 0lbs boost or 1 lbs boost. what could be the cause of this, or is this normal for my car. also, with de-acceleration that vac would read 25, and at a hault it would read 20, and with my ac on it would read 10 or 15. normal?

Your vac readings are normal, but boost is not working obviously. Where do you have your boost gauge hose hooked up under the hood??

The best place to tap into is on the front of the intake manifold like it shows.

 

what type of boost gauge did you get? pics? or link?

 

vac is fine but you got issues with boost.......sounds like it's hooked up wrong

 

thats the one i hooked up to. not the one nearest the back which i belive is for the fuel. i will take a pic if you want.

the wireing is not done to perfection. its just till i get it working properly

 

What does your car feel like? 2psi out of 5-7 means your wastegate is stuck open. I have had it happen on my DSM before.

 

clamp all those connections (i used zip ties). that may be where you are losing your vac pressure. take a pic of the face of the boost gauge or tell us the brand name.
