Default Smoked tails/painted lowers?

I'm looking to get my tail lights smoked/tinted. Anyone done this? I went to a window tinting shop and they said they don't to tail lights. Has anyone done it themselves? If so where to begin.. I'm afraid to do it myself.

Also I want to paint my lowers. I know you can buy paint and clear coat but how much of a pain is it to do it yourself and save money as opposed to getting it done professionally?

Check out www.audizine.com and search or ask.
There are a few guys in the B6 forum with tinted tails. When done correctly , look nice.

I'm not much of a fan of smoked tails either, but I saw a white TT yesterday that had smoked tails, it looked kickass. They looked completely black but lit up perfect, they did a great job with the paint.

Some cars look sick with smoked tails and others make me sick, a4s and smoked tails dont go good together. Painted lowers look awesome thou. Especially if u have a light color car.

I think silver A4s can look great with smoked tails, and silver GTIs the same. It usually looks tacky, like the owner didn't have money to spend on a real mod. But that's just my opinion. There's a DIY article out there. Whatever, it's your car, and it might look sweet.

Well I think you can get away with Smoked tails on pretty much any car but you have to be going for black as apart of your color scheme...Black rims and smoked tail lights usually looks nice to me although i have to admit that silver cars probably are one of the better looking combinations...I'd say go for it IMO...But if you do it, go professional. Mine cost 80 bucks at a local shop....here is a pic...

Yea.. those look sweet! That's the hard part, finding a shop that will do it. My car is black and I'm going for a black/silver color scheme. Here's my plan:

Already has silver pin stripes
Tinted windows
Smoked tails
Painted lowers
Black wheels with silver polished lip

So basically i want alot of black with silver accents, batmobile style.

Those look pretty damn good konvex. Probably the best b5 smoked tails I've seen, but I like 'em this way better.
