Sneak peek for you turbocharged B5A4/S4 owners
The pod shown in the links you provided is not the same as the pod that I am developing.
That unit you stick on with glue or double sided tape and while it is functional it is not very aesthetically pleasing.
The B5 pod I am creating is injection molded and replaces your factory column cover so it looks like a factory option. It is that clean of an installation and I would not make anything less.
How much will it cost? Unfortunately it won't be $15 and closer to the cost of the B6 one as the development and costs to make it are exactly the same.
Is that insane for a piece of plastic? It might be to you. But considering that it costs around $20,000 to make that computer drawing into a product.
Am I making a huge profit? Well I haven't broke even yet on the B6 pod but I have sold enough of them to get about 70% of my money back to start development on the B5 one.
What I am offering is a quality product that provides a better solution for gauge placement than currently exists. I have already gone through these same discussions with the B6/B7 guys when I made the first pod and I know that when the pod is available that it will be well received. I know my pod is of better design and quality and when you hold mine in your hand and compare it to the competition there is no question and to where the money was spent on making it.

I have access to a 3D printer that could take that solidworks file and make it outta plastic for a hella lot cheaper, I've been workin on a piece to replace the stock stereo with a 3 guage pod with a single DIN, but MCs design would be easier to 3D print if you already got the file in Solidworks

Will you offer the 159 $ kit as well for the B5? If so I am in. That is as long as it has a Steve Warner gauge again.
I will be offering the same gauge pod kit with the Stewart Warner gauge for $159.
I will also be offering the gauge with the custom dialled Omori gauges which will be arriving in 2 weeks time
