So basically no one can help me?
I have posted asking for help. No replies yet. I am trying to remove my dash to replace my A/C Evaporator. I have been told there is a special tool to remove the dash near the windshield. Is this true? Or can I remove the upper part of the dash with out it. Thanks guys.

The tool is for removing the tubular bar behind the dash panel. You don't need any special tools to take out the dash, but to get the evaporator out you may need a special tool. When you get the dash panel out there are usually two large allan bolts that are directly under the windshield, so you either have to remove the windshield or get the special tool to get the allan bolts out.
There are literally almost a hundred bolts to get the upper dash panel out. Remove the radio, a/c control head, and the entire center console, take out all the bolts behind the radio and remove the metal brace for the radio as that is bolted to the dash. Then when you remove the glove compartment you have to take out the passenger's air bag and bracket, that is also bolted to it. Remove the intrument cluster, there should be a couple of bolts there, take out all the a/c vents disconnect the electrical connectors and check for anything that may be binding. Lastly on the very top of the dash where the defrost vents are and the sunlight sensor is, pop off the trim around the little black sensor and pop up the sensor. There should be one or two screws there also. I think thats it.
Wow, that sounds like a heck of a task, but kinda excited about it, i enjoy working on cars, plus, just the labor from a friend was quoted at over 400 bux, I'll do it myself and save some cash. Thanks for the help.
