SO CAL July 30th Meet
I'M ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok, just got back from the Mt Palomar Run................. it's gotta be the greatest run i've done so ar, i think it's better than the ortega run.
follow me on the map if you like

I started on the 15/76 intersection, headed towards East, a few twisties here and there,
Left on S Grade Rd, then i saw this

and i got happy
sharp sharp SHARP turns left and right, within 7 miles up the mountain, i went up 5000 ft up the mountain, the scary part was that you can't see where or what you're turning into, it's always a blind spot where you're turning, a rock wall on one side(with no shoulder), and a 5000 ft drop (with NO guardrail) on the other side, you slip once, you're FUQUED!!!!!!
made it to the top of the mountain, very scenic view, then made my way down on E Grade Rd, you gotta watch out for squirrels, cows and horses
got back on the 76, headed towards Julian (east) on the 79south, then 78 E
got to Julian, then took the 78 East towards the Borrega Dessert, if you're looking at the map right now, you see that straight line on the 78? freakin awesome straightaway to hit top speed.

A3Night, i hit 145mph easy on that rd, i think it's the DSG that won't let you go past 140 on your car.
i hit the straight away, then u-turnd back towards Julian, then back on the 78, 79, then back on the 76 towards the 15.
i used up 1/2 tank of gas easy, started at 10am, made a few scenic stops here and there, then stopped at a few shops, got back to hwy 15 at 2pm.
if we do plan on a day, we need at least until 4pm if you wanna stop for lunch and stuff like that. there are about 3 casinos throught the ride so if you someone feels lucky, we can gather at a casino and play a few hands
good thing today was a weekday, NO CARS were ahead of me whatsoever, i'm guessing on the weekends, a lot more bikers and tourist would be on the rd, so don't know if you wanna run the mountain on a weekday or weekend.

ok, i found another rd, not here in SD though, if you look on the map, head East on hwy 74 from the 15, there's some nice twisties there, then you turn left on hwy 243 from the 74 and go north on 243, that rd looks really fuuuuun to drive also, maybe one of you guys up there can try it out and let me know how it goes.
here's the map for it

Nice... 145mph!
I dont think its a limitation with the tranny. T2T had the same issue as well in his MT A3. If you want to do a weekday let me know. I'm more than willing to tell the boss I'm sick

it's up to you, i don't care which day you guys wanna do it, i'll let you guys decide, whichever day is best for any of you, pick one,
the great thing about that run is that even if there's traffic on that mountain especially on weekends, there's no room for lane changes, so we can hold traffic behind us for like 10 mins and we can have a clear rd ahead.

Knucklehead! Your tires are only rated to 130mph. Think of all of the pressure on the sidewalls that just and extra 5mph adds. One blowout and there is one less Nam and A3 in circulation. Dude, I may always give you a hard time but I still want to see your ugly mug at the next GTG.
