cleaning the MAF with carb cleaner does not destroy the sensor as long as you do it correctly (or so I thought... my car is fine)...
from the codes you're throwing, If I were you, I would start with the basics if not done already - air filter, spark plugs, clean out EGR, lubricate IAC, put some seafoam in your fuel, with your oil, and feed it through vac lines into crank case, etc... you can find how to's on the forums... While this probably won't fix all your problems, easy fixes is the first thing to try... plus, cars are not like girls... if you treat a car with care and respect, it will do the same for you.
If in doubt, I had a few readings on my 96 2.8... cylinder 4 misfire, EGR, IAC valve, and something with MAF, i forget....
I cleaned out the MAF with carb cleaner, Lubed up the IAC with wd40, plugs+wires, seafoam..... checked up all my vacuum lines.......
got rid of EVERYTHING! Only spent $100 on all chemicals, tools, etc.... got to spend time on the car (which i love doing) car had smooth idle, no CEL.... this would be the best case scenario, but it might help you still.. good luck

well i have been cautious about using sea foam because it seems like every time it is discussed people are split on it. some people say it works wonders and some say it gets ride of all the gunk that the cylinders build up, but they say that is bad for it becasue it is so used to it... that probably mad no sense but i know some of you know what i aam talking about
