Default Some Sirius Scratches

So my sirius sattelite has caused some really nasty scratches on my trunk lid - 2 questions -

1) is this an expensive fix? requiring a re-paint? The scratches don't look very deep, but deep enough to see from a distance, and they seem to be much lighter than the actual paint.

2) It's getting worse... Short of removing the antenna, anyone have any ideas on how to get these on the car without causing scratches? I don't know why it's moving around (wind?).

thanks!

THats one reason i didnt put my antenna outside for the siruis, it ***** up your paint, i have it inside and its not issue, take off antenna and wash clay bar and wax, should make a huge dent in teh visible scratches

perfect. I've moved the antenna insideand did a claybar and wax, which really helped take edge off those scratches.

I'm kicking myself for not doing this sooner.

PEOPLE - DONT MOUNT YOUR ANTENNAS ON THE OUTSIDE. Just run it up the back seat and along one side of the rear shelf (tuck it in too).

Especially on the A4 Trunk - which is NOT flat, actually curved- turning your flat antenna into a razor sharp peice of hardened plastic. I've also read that foam adhesives do much better.. but, definiately stay away from the magnets.

I installed the antenna on my fron windshield with some velcro nest to the windshield wipers. works great for me and most people don't see it.
