Default Something that puzzled me ...........

.....this morning I changed my oil in my car. I checked the dipstick prior to removing the oil from the crankcase and it was full. I drained the oil and removed the filter. I then fill the case with 4 litres of 10W40 RP. However, when I transferred all the old oil back into the empty bottles, I only collected 3 bottles. Where did the other litre go? I did drained the old filter, so you can't say that the oil was in it.
Could the Audi have a reservoir somewhere for the turbo? My brother in law told me that his 97 S4 has a reservoir that empty the oil to lubricate the turbo bearings after you shut the car off. Could my 2001 1.8T have it? Your thought?
