1) rustangers? are you serious? my 95 will outrun, out handle your audi anyday, and drive across country without skipping a beat. being held together by sheetmetal and screws? what? my friend sounds like your the one thats delirious.

2) i came here to learn about audis, what i can do to it without killin the motor, etc. i did a search and found nothing, a bunch of posts without a solid answer. i came across this one and TTT'd it. got more wise cracks. now at the stang forums, a new user isn't hit with zingers, instead given links to useful stuff.

slimcrhiz, appreciate your response. do you have a link to the 225 TT DV? could you email at sound clip to me at quicksilver2001@hotmail.com too? thanks

im not here to prove anything or start anything, just was looking for a response to a simple question. i want to have fun with my winter car, want to make it different than the rest, like the rest of you. i have yet to come up to an audi that was mod'd tastefully, only seen one that has been mod'd and it was unfortunately riced out the rest looked, sounded, and performed just like ever audi i've seen. after i make it sound different, i want to make it perform a little different by adding some beefier brakes, and some wheels that look good and classy yet a hint of 'racy' while being appropriate. i've already ran across alot of nice audis on this site and look forward to learning more.

on the HKS intake there are its good sides and its bad.

Good

Super Ultra Cheap
Nice faucet-like sucking sound--not to loud, just perfect.
Widely known name brand. HKS makes everything and they wouldn't put their name on a product unless it has been tested, retested, and tested some more.

Bad

Heat soak sets in really quick if you live in a hot climate or are sitting in traffic

Solution

Dei makes a thermal wrap (its looks like a reflective cooler) NEways since this is reflective it reflects heat instead of absorbing it (the HKS intake had black tubing) (it cost like $25)

Also A peice of 1/16" aluminum sheetmetal painted black will help fend off heat soak. And can be easily bent by yourself and you can easily drill the holes needed for mounting

did you get my sound file, you can normally find a used intake for around $150-180
may help to buy a new cone filter if it needs it. Check on Audiworld and goto marketplace. Also try audizine they normally have a few on monthly. I got my evoms intake used for $150

how about one of those fake BOV sound makers. you know the ones advertized in the back of the import tuner mags. or you could have a friend crouch down behind your front wheel and when you rev he would go "Katizz"
LOL, at the grochery store their were four old ladys that had BOV's. They were in the motorized wheel chairs with oxygen tanks. Everytime they breathed it sounded like a BOV, they were probablly running around 20psi but they definately had a CEL. When i saw them i just started laughing b/c it really did sound like a BOV, i felt bad though b/c they were really old and had a hard time getting around.
