Default Spark Plug socket

So i might just be out of it.. but i just got my 99.5 a4 2.8 a week ago and i went to install some new spark plugs and it seems as if my 5/8 spark socket wont fit all the way down to the spark plug. i saw somewhere that there was a tool by audi to ease the install but its expensive and im not gonna buy a fifty dollar tool that i use once or twice.. i talked to a couple places and they wont let me borrow a tool for twenty bucks and do it in their parking lot. so i want to know if anyone knows how i should go about putting in my new plugs that i just spent sixty bucks on

-Thanks

I use a 5/8" spark plug socket for NGK platinum plugs.
