Default Speakers cutting in and out

I could use some stereo advice -- I've got some speakers that cut in and out, usually when I go over a bump. Both the driver's side front and passenger side rear. So much for my fancy bose system ... doesn't sound so great with 4 speakers out.

Audi has replaced the driver's door bass speaker, replaced the head unit twice, added some felt to the back of the speakers to prevent them from shorting, done some silly connector cleaning trick 4 times, all for the front driver's side. Nothing helped for very long, luckily all under warranty :-)

Anybody have any thoughts on what the problem might be? Wiring? Amp?
I've pulled the driver's door panel, and the speaker connections are all solid there. Also the connector on the amp in the back is solid (no crackling/popping at all when I wiggle the connectors around).
I'm thinking the next thing to check is the connector on the back of the head unit. After that I'm out of ideas ... are there any other connectors I can check?

(A4 Avant 2002 Bose)

Thx!

The only thing that hasnt been replaced is the amp. Its probably going to be that or a wiring problem.

I am having the same issue also, when i go around corners or hit a bump. I have pulled all the door panels off and checked all the connections on the AMP and the speakers. Did you ever find a fix to this problem. before i spend any of my time on this?

I have the same exact issue with my 2002 A4 Avant. Here is what I got in response from Yahoo Answers:

Yea dude you are on the right track. The problem with the Audi Bose amps for a while was that just a minor problem seemed to spin outta control and jack up the whole audio system.
Here is what I think - your front left channel speaker was blown, or close to blowing, and as the internal components of the speaker became more strained, it caused a problem for the Left front amp channel, which caused a problem for the whole amp.

The best way to troubleshoot this would be to first check the speaker. disconnect the front left and see if it works. If so, replace the front speakers, If not, replace only the front Left, then check. If it is still not working then you should scrap it and go aftermarket.

The only possibility for a cheap fix is if the speaker replacement does the trick. A problem with the amp is another things all together. i don't want to discourage you, but taking it to Audi will cost hundreds, just for them to tell you the amp is bad and you must now buy a $1000 amp... And the real problem is finding an expert to diagnose your system and not just say its bad to make a dime off you. The 2002 Audi is not a complex install for a radio, but you must bypass the amp - Cut it out and wire the speakers straight to the radio.

Sorry this is not what you want to hear, but scraping it and going aftermarket immediately will ultimately be the cheapest and best route
I'm not saying that this is 100% correct, but it's something to consider.
