Speed Tuning Chip - [2.8 Review]

You can really feel +/- 6hp/6tq? I'm not sure if 125 bucks is worth that... did you notice a good change in throttle response?I guess either way, paying 125ish dollars is better than buying the GIAC for more money...

GTG will have to wait until spring (at least for me). Dec/Jan/Feb time frame is a busy time, so i'll be on the road a bit.

Sineo, If it's any help, I sent mine out to Speed Tuning onTuesday morning and was hoping it would come today, but I didn't. I even watched the mail-woman bring the mail up to the house... no dice. So now I'm hoping my ecu will be back on Monday. I know it's a 1.8T, not a 2.8, but I did it. I'll let you know how mine works out. I just hope the new DV won't affect the car in a bad way if I drive the car before I put the chipped ECU in.
See if you can get the same ECU you have now cheap from a junk yard. That's what I did. Then you don't have to worry about being w/o your car...unless you are also replacing your CV boots...

But again, for my 2.8 i really think this chip was worth the $125 bucks given the limited number of alternatives out there. For you 1.8 owners out there - your results may vary. Plus you have other alternatives (ie: numerous chips, turbos, fmic's, etc) to help increase performance. For 2.8r's, it's pretty much just a chip.....unless we dump $4500 into an S/C (but that's a down payment on an S4 if you ask me)
Granted, this chip isn't "tested" (here in the US), but this group-buy and this forum is the type of medium we need to spread the word to validate whether or not this chip is the real-deal. That is why your reviews are important if you decide to go this route. Just be honest in your assessment and then other's will decide.
From what Klum posted earlier in this thread, the chip is popular in Europe and has no doubt been tested there. We just need to spread the word here in the US.
