Issues....
so i installed my ECU this morning from speedtuning and it is the best $125 i ever spent, the only issue i ran into is that the car idels ruff during breaking, it will drop down to about 800rpms and slowly climb back to 1k (slowly meaning 5 seconds) other wise it is great. has any one else experiecend this with a speed tuning or any chip?
also i think i will be taking my car to the local dealership to bee looked at because my heads up display flashes while drivivg and the oil light comes on and off when ever it feels like it (mostly slow stop and go trafic), i just had the oil changed 600 miles ago. my question with this is, if i take it in being moded and all will they reset the progamming or will it be okay?
also my radio reception sucks any one ever run ito this?
i cannot wait until i am not a total newb at this......

1. maybe your extra boost blew off a vac line, creating a rough idle, if so, you may get a CEL soon. Maybe some sort of check valve problem or something vacuum related to your brakepower booster line.
2. Check oil level/change your oil. Thechipshould have nothing to do with oil pump failure - although maybe you have SLUDGE.
3. Try different stations/frequencies. Is your rear defroster on? Did your antenna wire come loose?

 

I recently got that chip on my '01 1.8 and I'm not experiancing any of the same problems you stated, go with what Bogie said as far as what to check. Also the chip should be undetecable at the dealer.

 

dont the chips also need some break in time?? that could have something to do with it. just a thought.

 

i haven't heard of a breaking in time, and my oil light was comming on before the chip, do you think seafoam would fix any sludge problems?
