Quick question, I have a 2005.5 A4 tiptronic, I've been riding around with it in sport mode and it seems to function correctly when upshifting however while down shifting it seems to get stuck in 2nd and I have to come to almost a complete stop to get into 1st. I don't have much experience with manuels, but as far as the Tip in sport mode goes does this sound right. Should I have to come to a stop for it to drop back to 1st. My second question, I was considering getting the Audi Nav system for my car, however most dealers I've spoke with say they can't get it, however on the forum I saw a guy with a new one that he had ordered for his car, this was about 2 yrs ago. I also checked accesories on the audi web site and couldn't find it there either. Are there dealers, or better yet should the dealers be able to get one and install it for me. Any help is appreciated.

 

Its normal for the car not to go to first unless almost stopped. Thats the case for almost every tip on the market. As for the nav it may be a question of the radio installed in your car. It may not be capable of using nav. I didnt think that was the case for 05.5 thou. I thought that was just the 06's.

 

Sport mode is great for curvy roads, and when you want to race someoen. Other than that, I would not ride around in that mode all the time, waste of gas.

 

yeah, thanks for the advice. Its cool jumping out from a stop light. I think what I learned which is probably obvious to everyone but me, but the reason it was acting funny is its trying to hold that second gear as sports mode holds all the gears a little longer. So at slow speeds or when slowing down its reacting just as it should. Its cool to rear the engine rev in sports mode though, definitely love that sound. But will take the advice and not cruise in sport. Thanks for the response.
