hey guys i have noticed recently that my car will ocasinaly make a breif squealing nosie on start up when its cold outside. it only last for a split second and only happens once in a while. it sounds like a belt or somthing cant really descibe it but it dosent sound soo good. its a 2002 with 54k. the car runs fine and eveything just wanted to see if there was anything i could do.

 

Does it squeal when you turn fully locked.

 

no but the rpms drop alittle?

 

may be the water pump

 

i believe that noise is caused by the tensioner. Your coming up on that 60k service, most reccomoend the TB to be changed at 60k.

 

Colder weather, old belts go brittle, get your belts changed.
