When I go in reverse at slow speeds (0-10) sometimes I hear an awful squeeling noise coming from the rear of my car - more specifically the rear wheels / rotors. So I think. It sounds as if the rear brake pads and/or rotors are rubbing in some awful manner, but this only occurs in reverse and not all the time either. I have mentioned it to the shop, but of course it never makes the noise their, so they have no idea. It doesn't necessarily occur when I'm applying the brake either - usually, but not always. It does not seem to depend on whether or not the clutch is engaged either. Does anyone have any suggestions or has encountered this problem before?

 

That sounds like the rear pads are low, there is a squeal indicator that is going the queal when backing up. Just check how much pad is left on the rears.
