stage 5 clutch
my car should be done by late thursday/early friday and i have a few questions. first, anyone have experience with a stage 5 clutch? how do they feel? second, how long do i have to break the clutch in for? i've heard 500 miles of city driving, but south bend says 750 miles. during this time i just can't launch it or go above 3k right? what i was thinkin was when i got it back i would fill up the tank and go driving around the city. i dont know this town that well outside the campus area and i need to break in the clutch so i figured it was a good idea. i should do around 200-300 miles, and then driving it around town i should have 500 miles before fixx fest. so would it be safe to put that many miles on a brand new clutch the first day its in or should i spread the driving out over the next 2 weeks? and after i put 500 miles on the clutch would it be safe to do a few runs down the 1/4 mile at fixx fest?
I read 1000 miles. But it has to be in town, driving on the highway is pointless. And i dont think theres a limit on how many rpms you go, just weather or not your slipping the clutch to much and letting it glaze over. And what is Fixx fest??
I had to do 1000 miles, i would go with 1000 just to be safe..and dude i remember you did a post like this a while back about if you need a stage 3 or 4 clutch..i think it was you maybe not..but you dont need a stage 5..You will basically be able to drive it on the track and thats about it...Stage 5 clutch is like nascar ****. I have a stage 2 almost got a stage 3 but the dude was like dont do it stage 3's suck to drive...i cant even imagine what a stage 5 would be like.

clutch is sick. the pedal pressure is definitely harder than stock but my clutch in my mustang 5.0 was still harder than this. It now engages at the floor instead of the ceiling and i have to re-learn how to drive the car lol but the engagement is solid and i can't wait to be able to launch it. i love it way more than the stock clutch.
my buddy who installed it said he heard a small chatter in the beginning, which im guessing was the lwfw, but then he said it went away, and i haven't heard it at all. tried turning on the a/c and still no chatter so im happy about that.
when you rest your foot on the clutch and when its slightly pressed there is a vibration in the clutch pedal. is this normal?

wait u got it done already. freaking speedy gonzalas. have fun learn to drive the car over again lol. did he fill the trans fluid while monitoring the temp and going through the gears? i think the vibration should be normal cuz ur flywheel is alot lighter than it was? like more masive objects absorb shocks better. im not very sure though.
yeah got an 11lb flywheel so i figured that was it. but the guy did say my master cylinder was slightly cracked, so i gotta get that fixed and most of my mounts are almost shot so i guess its time to upgrade to some street or track mounts, but i went cruising with the local dubbers tonite and i absolutely love this new clutch.
