Whats the deal with the timing belt inspection? I called up the stealership to check for recalls on my car and they told me the lower control arms needed inspection and the timing belt needed inspection. I know the reason for the control arm inspection but the tech couldnt give me an answer for why they needed to inspect the timing belt. Anyone know the reason behind the recall?

98 to 2002 it should be on the recall list

the company has a duty by law to inform you of a recall regardless if the car was bought through a dealer

 

 

now you know what the small print looks like lol

 

not cheap materials, but a definite defect in the tensioner's engineering.
I took this when I changed my tensioner/belt (it had failed due to the defect)

 

but it doesnt exempt you from your statutory rights
