timming belt and tennsioners are brand new. what do you mean by dose the cel work?

oh yea it works, its a rather intermitant problem i have yet to drive the car today and it just started last night but when i was on the highway it would come and go

 

you sure its not a misfire or anything?

 

( up grades ) like air intake not tight, vac pipes lose, exhaust/intake leak

 

other one is arcing of the plug leads in the spark plug shroud ( check it in the dark ) or build up of oil due to leaking rocker gasket

 

oh man seams as if im going to have a hard time finding the rut of my problem. i had a few misfire codes b4, but i cleared them and the have not shown up agin in quite a while

 

your problem happens when in high revs which generally means air leak or fuel pressure lose so im thinking injector seals due to it being a high pressure thing

 

If you are detonating you are running lean somehow. When i was running lean i detonated a few times in wot and thats when the codes/cel came soon after. i replaced the maf and so far so good. sputtering and knocking are two different things though. Sputtering would mean rich and knocking would be lean. Changing the fuel filter wont hurt anything and is probably the cheapest way to start narrowing it down if you dont have any part specific fault codes. Then id do spark plugs if you havent in a while, or at least check them. Check all your vac lines of course..

 

well i have a boost gauge and i dont have a leak, im going to do the fuel filter and maybe swap out my maf with another a4's see if anything is different and check some codes, still waiting for my dam fuking gf to get her *** over hear
