Heyy anyone know the stock exhaust piping size on a 2.8L A4?

is there any reason to go bigging with the piping? I mean will it increase the performance, or do the 2.8l need the backpressure?

 

no no thats not what i mean. I want to remove the resonator and replace it with just a pipe.

A friend of mine did it on his VR6 GTi and it sounded amazing (somewhat similar of a resonator, "suitcase" sometimes called over at VWvortex), and also another friend with his 2.8 and it sounded so mean i loved it.

Plus have you ever just knocked on the resonator? It is solid as hell, and prob weighs a ton, but not that i care about weight, its just funny how big the resonator is to hide the growl from the V6....
