anyone know what the size of the stock exhuast is on the 2.8 12v. specifically the cat pipes.

 

2.5 inches, i would assume. Ive never heard of a 12v engine lol.

 

are you kidding me, never heard of the 12v, the greatest and one of audis longest lasting engines. you sir are a prune. sure its a 2.5 pipe. i need to ghetto rig up some new cats.

 

Then its a 2V 2.8L engine. The newer versionwould be a 5V 2.8 liter engine. You measure valves per
cylinder not by total amount of valves in the engine, just so your aware.

 

That's awesome, because my S4 is reported to have a 40 valve motor! Given that it's an 8 cylinder car, that's 320 valves total...man this thing really does breathe freely!

 

ok ill give you that but no one runs around calling it a 2v v6, ive always seen itcalled the 12v refering to the number of valves in the whole engine, then we got the 30v AKA 5v because it is 30v for the whole engine but the covers say 5v

 

actually ive been looking online are you sure their not 2.25 or 2 inch pipes, i need the measurements for the pipeing around the cats.
