are the stock hid's for an 01 1.8T 6000k or 12000k? i have seen a pic of 12000k on a previous post and they look a little more blue than mine.

The more blue/purple they are the higher the Kelvin the lower the Kelvin is the more white the HId's get

besides the higher the K the less usefull it is, the darker the blue the less usefull light there is so it wouldnt be brighter
theres this mith were people think higher the K the brighter it is which is wrong

AUDI uses 4300k becasue it is close to white which has the most usefull light

Right, also the lower the Kelvin the more condensed the light is and more direct, less scattered enabling bright and controled light getting more out of your HID's
