Default Stock Navigation

I bought a 2004 A4 without Navigation. I was thinking about purchasing a nav system, and wasen't sure if I want In-Dash or Portable.
Is it possible to buy a stock a4 in-dash Nav and have it installed in a car without NAV? I don't want a 3rd party nav because I don't like the way it looks and want to preserve the audi console.

yeah there’s audi nav for sale somewhere search little more, and you should search little more on those 3rd party nav, some of them look better, do little more and most of all for less $$ then stock ones. if u already know what u want and have $$ for it just go talk to your audi dealer .

Check out www.navplus.us for all of the information on Audi navigations you'll ever need. There are a lot of people who have retrofitted RNS-E navigation units into B6 Audis so you'll have lots of resources. Is shouldn't cost you much over $1k to do so either.

Thanks, just one more quick question.

For the people who bought a portable NAV, how do you have it hooked up?

The Nav stuck to the windshield and the power cable hanging down connected to the power outlet next to the E-brake?
