stolen air bag?
Hi all,
I just bought a 2000 A4 1.8t with a rebuilt from salvage title. It has 67,000 miles on it, looks and runs good. I paid 6000 for it, and so far haven't had any crash related problems.
Anyway, I took it to get the windows tinted. When I brought it in there was no airbag light on. As soon as I started it up when I picked it up, the air bag light was on. The car was in their garage for about 3 hours. They didn't look like the most upstanding of citizens.
I know lots of people have an air bag light on, so maybe I'm just paranoid. How easy is it to steal one? does this happen?

It's pretty easy to remove the airbags, but, to make it look like it belongs you need an airbag blank. You can't just pull the airbag out and not have anything there, you'd have a pretty big hole in your steering wheel.
if they moved the passengers seat while they were tinting, they could have jarred the airbag modual loose, my friend pulled the wrong lever when trying to adjust his seat one time, and the airbag light came on.. havent gotten a chance to fix it yet
