Which year should I buy?
Hey guys,
Looking at purchasing my first a4. Fell in love with the way they drive, haven't owned a real car (recent grad, new job, gotta have something to take clients around in), and am looking at a4. Looking between 2005-2008.
Wanted to see what you guys had to say about these years re: what to look for, what to watch out for, friendly advice, just anything that could help me out.
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to respond.
Hope to hear from you all!

I would say get the 2008 if you can. They all had the S-Line appearance and the updated cam follower (although it is still a good idea to keep an eye on that). Othersie they are really the same car. Timing belt/water pump needs changed arounf 100k (some say sooner, I did mine at 105k). Service records are great, but it really comes down to giving the car a good look over and test drive. I have put 100k on my car with zero issues (knock on wood). Others have had problems with oil consumption, and the cam follower. Some will tell you that parts and service is more costly. I haven't really noticed that. Oil changes run close to $100 because of the full synthetic oil needed. I had pumped maybe $300 is parts in my car over the past three years (brakes, pcv, diverter value) for minor repairs.
