Strange Noise :)
hi
I'm new to the forum and would like some general advice
Got my 2004 1.8T (140kw) in Jan. Getting a strange vibrating noise from the left front. I do not feel it on steering wheel. When the wind comes front the side, the noise gets worse. I have had it at the dealer, and they fasten the plastic cover under the nose( that protects the sump ) but the noise is still there .... you only really start to notice it at about 140km/h.
also...
My car comes with the sport suspension and my rear suspension squeaks when going over bumps, there is also a noise, like something is falling around, or like the tire is loose in the boot. I suspect it could be the tools next to the tire, that is bouncing around.... but it cant be that loud....
I'm taking the car to the dealer so that they can address al these issues, but thought I would mention it here if anybody else experienced the same thing.
I attach a pic of my pride and joy
thanks

RE: Strange Noise :)
Welcome to the forum.
Not sure what the noise is. If it is wind,I can't imaging what it could be, other than the belly pan. Are all the bolts in place.
You are sure you aren't hearing one of the wheel bearings start to go?
This would give a grinding noise that may get worse when you turn.

RE: Strange Noise :)
nope, there is no noise when i go slow or turn... the car has about 6000km on the odo. the dealer thought it was the belly pan. It looked a little bit loose, but i watched them remove and put back the whole thing. one of the brackets was a bit loose, so i thought they found the problem..... but next morning i drove to work it was back. I suppose it could be wheel related, but wouldnt I have felt that on my steering wheel?

RE: Strange Noise :)
Sorry, I missed that it is a new car.
Not sure what it would be, but it is the dealers responsibility to find the issue and fix it.
If you can reproduce the noise, take the mechanic for a drive and demonstrate it for him.
If he says "they all do that, it is normal", ask to take a new car off the lot for a test drive and see if the other car does it too.
Sorry, it is difficult to diagnose noises over the net.
