I have a 2001 Audi A4 (2.8) and every time I go over a curb or speed bump, I notice a slight rattle in the front left wheel well. I removed the wheel and visually/ manually inspected the tie rods, rotor, etc...and made sure everything was tight. Any ideas what may cause this noise?

i have the same problem. i took my car to to the dealer today to have them inspect the lower control arms since that is under a service action. they said the control arm is OK but the tie rod ends are loose and they can replace those for a mere $551! damn stealerships!!
i figured i'll buy the parts online and replace them myself.

 

Dont forget to get an Alingment after
