Default Stuck cup holder

have a B6 audi. Noticed tonite when I went to put a drink in my cup holder and it wouldnt pop open. This is the first time its done that. I finally popped it out by pushing a credit card underneath it. Thinking that the first time it was pushed in to far, I pushed it back in very lightly and it got stuck again. It seems like it sticks in quite a bit further than the little credit card holder thingy on the left side.

Any simple way to fix this?
I have CPO warranty but I dont think it fixes little things like that right?

Welcome to the stuck cup holder club. The internals are either gunked up with spilled pop, or the spring mechinism broke. Not sure/dont careabout a fix, I just use the center cup holders. Glad I can help out though [8D]

+50 for the spilled drinks being the problem. Sometimes when you go over a bump, some pop or whatever will spll into it. The fact that you used a CC to fix it further confirms it.

spray some citrus cleaner on it, the oils in the citrus are natural solvents and should get rid of the stickiness

I have the same problem too, although my cupholders must have cancer as it has spread to the back seat as well.......I can't get the cup holders from the rear arm rest to pop out either..........I think my car is trying to tell me something.....don't drink and drive!!!!!!
And don't even get me started about the center cup holders in the front arm rest..........what was Audi thinking........I pulled those things out day 1.
