Quick question for y'all.

I just got my car back a few days ago, my car had this very annoying ticking sound coming from the back of the engine. Both the mechanic and I thought it was the cam chain tensioner. Well, I get the car back, not a lick of difference, the tensioner has been replaced, everything else apparently looks great in there, valves, bearings and whatnot. Any idea what might be causing this god aweful ticking sound? low oil pressure maybe? i'm not getting any codes but who knows...

 

small two way check valve near rear of passenger side of engine bay - heard of this being a issue

 

and this valve going bad would make my car sound like a deisel? lol

 

If your car sounds like a deisel then I would say that and not say its making clicking sound - don't what that could be caused by

 

you might have cracked a monifold man, you could hearing the exhaust leak...... its not uncommon

ok, maybe sounding like a deisel was the wrong thing to say. its a ticking sound, from the back of the engine, at first i thought it was valves but they all checked out ok.

 

Sounds like an exhaust leak to me.

 

yea still sounds like a preatty good exhaust leak, look aroung the turbo, cat, and manifold see if there is any black **** showing up

 

only other thing I can think of is the clutch and its parts, does the noise alter on speed?? or is it a constant tick??
