subwoofers to stock bose?

Default subwoofers to stock bose?

before i start, ive searched and i looked for an audio only forum. but didnt find either. so i posted this hear. so dont yell at me

i was just wondering how to hook up some subwoofers and amp to the stock bose system? including the stock HU. i know there are adapters and such for doing this, but i dont know which is the correct one to use? any guidance would be appreciated! thanks guys.

Disconnect the rear deck speakers and buy a amp that has speaker level imputs - thats the easiest way to go

you dont know the correct adapter to use though for hooking it up behind the HU?

doesn't exist - sorry, the bose system is the biggest PITA there is when it comes to upgrading. there is a DIY somewhere that I saw where someone hacked into the stock amp in the rear and made some RCA's work, but it seemed like to much work for what it accomplished.

are you sure theres not something like this: http://www.cardomain.com/item/SCOFAI3or this: http://www.cardomain.com/item/PERSVEN4for hooking it up to the stock bose? i could have sworn i read something about doing it with my old nissan which had bose...ide assume it would be the same adapter for the bose in audi's? maybe ill see if i can find that write up again....

I did mine this way. You have a B5 so its perfect for you. My B6 had a different plug on the amp, but i was able to figure it out by wire color (same as B5). This is tough but it is a clean install, and only one wire run front to back. You are gonna have to run your speaker wires as well. Why bother when you already have signal in your trunk from the stock amp, and its already converted to signal only (no voltage).
