Default Sunroof...

Hey, I'm trying to figure out whether the problem I am having is in the motor or the switch that controls my sunroof, I have a '96 A4 and I'm very aware that problems love to go wrong with the sunroofs but I havent seen anyone else post about these kind of symptoms, when my sunroof is closed it seems to work fine with going into "vent" and when it goes back, the only difference is it DOES retract when in vent but when I open it back and go toclose itinstead of sliding forward it tries to go into "vent" mode while under my roof, I'm thinking its in the switch but could possibly be the motor...any ideas?

Thanks guys, I will do this, I ended up spending 7 hours yesterday pulling down my headliner and unbolting the sunroof from the roof of the car so it had room to slide closed then rebolting it back up, it was really a test of my patience..

man, that blows...and i will bet after all that it turned out to be the dumb contacts on the switch the whole time.
